My husband's favorite comic book character has always been Thor. So he was kind of looking forward to it, but as any fan of ANYthing knows, they always make changes to the story when they make it a movie. (Ask me about "The Chronicles of Narnia" : Anyway, I think he's kind of worried they'll destroy the story, so we haven't gone yet. Haven't written it off entirely yet, though. I'll let you know if we go see it.

I saw it, it was pretty good. dyzzispell - I think your husband will appreciate some of the little things in the movie. There were definitely some changes from the comic books as this is the origin of how Thor comes to be allied with earth. It doesn't really follow the comic book cannon but it is not a bad change and it gets the character where he needs to go in a matter of days instead of the years it took in the comics.

Meant to check in here sooner, but I did finally see Thor. It wasn't bad. And kidsis, you were right - my husband did end up liking it. Was worth seeing in the theater, though I'm curious if 3D would've been worth it, since we only saw it in 2D...

I saw it in both 2D & 3D and can tell you that you didn't miss much; the fly-through in the end credits was cool but the only thing that the 3D helped with was the part after the end credits so that I could tell that the object in the case was a cube and not a flat piece of something.

I've finally seen Thor. I liked it.
I am a huge fan of Norse Mythology so I was kind of worried but I had a few good laughs.
I know there is talk of a second Thor.

A 12-year-old son of a friend of mine saw the Avengers, and was so excited that my sister and I were going to see it, so that he could geek out with more people about it. As a prep, he slyly/excitedly asked me, "Can you guess who the bad guy in the Avengers movie is??"
And I was like, "I believe that they are all flawed human beings, who just find that their circumstanc-- hahaha, nah it's totally Loki." Because of the end of the Thor movie.
Actually, it's Whedon writing, so my first guess wasn't actually too far off.
