I'm starting to get curious about how long everyone's been a fan of Troy. Not that it matters in the least. A fan is a fan is a fan is a fan... Nevertheless, I'm still curious...
I've been a fan since around Dec. '08/Jan. '09, so 1 1/2 to 2 years now.
What about you guys?

Since Yuri in Tales of Vesperia, so about 2 years, I think? Maybe 3? I don't remember how old the game is...
But I've only been a page-stalker/fan club member for a few months... XD

depends on how you rank it!
i am pretty sure the first time i saw him sing on stage was 2000 or 2001, with seven medium. i was a bit of a "fan" then. i saw him again singing with tripp fontaine after that, and was a "fan" again - but i still didn't really know anything about him.
i enjoyed his anime voice work before i knew who he was.
we became friends over the last couple of years, and i've been among his "biggest fans" since getting to know him.

Same for me, dyzz. I found this forum first, around July this year, and then his FB fan page, probably from some mention on here. Until then, I had no idea where to find out stuff about Troy, other than Youtube. So, I was always more casual all along, until recently.
But, he was always my favorite VA all along.

@ally: Yeah, I figured your "fan-ness" would go back quite a long ways to his more baby-ish days, lol. Lucky you!

When I first heard him in Trinity Blood. I was always a fan of him there, but I wasn't REALLY a true fan like I am now, until I met him.
Go figure? =P Not very long... Sadly. D=

I think Trinity Blood was the first role I heard him in. I know I watched shortly after it was dubbed but I honestly have no idea when that was. I can't believe I don't remember, and I think I'm more shocked that I haven't looked it up yet. ^^'
So I've been a fan since Trinity Blood. I might not known who exactly he was but I was a fan.

Tail end of July of this year, I found a YouTube vid where he gave his two cents about the Kanji Tatsumi controversy. I'd only guessed from playing that scene that whoever voiced Shadow Kanji must've been having a hell of a lot of fun. What surprised me was how kind Troy was, both in his interpretation of the character and talking about the impact it had on people who'd played the game. And, that he doesn't naturally have an always-growly voice, and even when a growly character like Kan-chan softens his voice, it's never totally soft... that's a lot of subtlety to play on. And, he's got a great sense of humor. He's not just funny, but smart-funny. And, he sings. Quite well. And is/was a protégé of Yuri Lowenthal. And he was in Ergo Proxy. And he's not just smart, he's insightful. And he's not gay, so the abovemost mentioned kindnesses struck me as having been most utterly unselfish. And he goes above and beyond the call of fandom and niceness to send personal messages to his fans about future convention locations. And he doesn't just sing and play the guitar, but also composes.... I-I think that I just won't be able to stop being a fan of his at any time soon. I'm kind of caught in this rolling snowball of epic awesomeness

I'd have to say....Hmmm...well I first heard of him when I first saw Trinity Blood which was when I was in the 10th grade....and that was almost 5 years ago. So I'm going with 5 years I've been a major Troy fan! :3

I've been a fan of his for about 5 1/2 years now.I had heard his music in Tripp Fontaine first, oddly enough (my nephew lead me to it because he's into a lot of indy music). Then I heard him in Trinity Blood,Basilisk, and Gunslinger Girl and recognized his name. And then I saw him in a western and knew it was the same guy.I only learned how to use a computer about 2 years ago and found him on MySpace. That's when I got a taste of his intellegence and wicked sense of humor.I signed up to FaceBook about a year and a half ago.But for the longest time whenever I tried to find him there,I kept getting a red-haired 13 year old boy. Finally about 2 months ago I found his page and Troy's Trinity. So you could say I've been a fan for awhile.
