Ok, I'm going to take my chances with this. Since we all seem to find dreams fascinating, maybe we could share some of them? Or how about this - do you dream in color? Can you taste/feel? I've heard it said that when you feel something in a dream, it often comes from something that's actually happening to you. Like when I used to dream I was getting shot or stabbed, I'd feel the pain. But in reality, that pain might've been a stomachache or something which in turn caused the dream. I once dreamed, when I was about 8 years old, about some crazy robot that was biting my toes. It was quite a nightmare at the time, but I woke up to find my cat attacking my feet. Dream explained. However, I dreamed once that I was sitting by a hotel pool in Florida. I could feel the warmth of the sun on my arms and it felt sooo good, since in real life it was winter. How does that get explained by something really happening, like the dreams above? I've felt other things, too, that there are no outside explanations for, but I'm not about to talk about them here. I do dream in color. Often vividly, to where I can describe details to others the next day. I have also dreamed I was at some sort of fair where they had all kinds of desserts and candy, and I could eat - and taste - as much as I wanted with no guilt because it wasn't real! I've twice dreamed that I died and woke up here, I've had superpowers, been able to fly, and on occasion, I have been able to control my dreams. So what about you guys?

This is one dream I haven't forgotten. I had gotten it for a week straight when I was younger. It's one of two that I remember. The latter being a recent dream.
I remember it started with me playing a Super Mario game and got sucked into the game. Instead of Mario being the main guy, I was now the main person and I had to go fight Bowser right then and there. But you know, he's in a castle. With lava. So I start making my way up the stairs in the castle when I could feel heat coming and there was a open space not to far ahead, so I ran forward and sure enough, there was lava in front of my eyes. So I jump and almost jumped into a ball of lava that jumped from the pit. Then it just skips ahead to me standing in front an open area but I can't move. Bowser then appears and begins throwing things at me but because I can't move, I get hit with them. But right as Bowser gets super close, I woke up.
I normally don't remember dreams, but I think it's due to an accident I had when I was really, really little...My other dream, eh. It was bizarre.

Woot. Double post. So. I figured I would post this dream I had recently. It involves Anime Crossroads, my backyard, and a police chase inside a house. Okay, so it starts with me entering the hotel for the con, when someone recognized me. There was a flash of lights (I presume it was from cameras...) and when I finally was able to see, I took a few steps and bumped into Troy. How I didn't see him before is beyond me. I know I couldn't see but still...Anyways, I apologized and ran off. Only to hear someone tell him that I was the one who started the forums. I froze and the next thing I know, I'm getting hugged by him and the police came. They said it was against the law to be hugged by the opposite sex. So we ran. Then I woke up. It was weird...

Nah, not weird. Just the product of a mind overrun by too much anime. ;D It's going to be hard not to think of that one at AC though. I really hope you're able to ignore it, cause I see how it could haunt you... My last dream involving Troy... oh wait, I posted it somewhere else. Where was that? Hmm... Well I'll post it here anyway. In this dream I finally got to meet him. He was with a group of little kids taking them to like a Pizza Hut or something. He was so friendly and nice. And there was this girl there, too, who I think might've been his agent or something. (Maybe it was supposed to be Ally.) She was really nice too. Oh, and he'd also play on XBox Live with my husband, using the screenname TOMA. Don't know what or where that's from, but that's what it was. ;D

I guess all this manga and anime we cram into our heads does something to us. XD
TOMA... I wonder where your brain got that from, Dyzzi! Interesting.

Once I had this really weird....but really funny dream. I had been playing Kingdom Hearts II the day before and I dreamt that I was underwater, and that I was going into this giant metal....thing....and I ran into a heartless and it just out straight said: SQUIRTLE!!! At first I just remembered standing there and going: Okay.... Then the dream continued on and I had magically turned into Sora and was with Riku riding bikes, and we were riding them up some stairs when I just jump up and scream out: BURN HALF THE CALORIES!!! End of story. XD

My dreams are very interesting. I like to go to sleep at night, because when I do, my dreams feel and look real, 90% of the time.
It seems like I blink and suddenly I'm in dream land. There's only a few things that usually happen that remind me that it's not reality. -- I've had a few future-telling dreams, which are interesting when I see them play out.
There's those dreams you want to replay over and over again because something nice (or sexy... *drools*) happens in them.
I dream in color - no fuzzy edges around my vision. It's really neat, and I love dreaming/sleeping because of that reason. =]
Just thought I'd throw my two cents in.... ^_^

When I was reading Ted Dekker's Circle Trilogy ("Black", "Red" and "White"), I started having really cool dreams. The premise of the books is that the protagonist is jumping between two worlds - when he falls asleep in one, he wakes up in the other. Whichever world he's awake in feels so real, he thinks the other is a dream. It's really cool.
Anyway, while reading them I started having the craziest dreams. Several times I was able to control my dreams and do whatever I wanted, like fly and stuff. One time I had one of those naked-in-a-crowd-of-people dreams, and I knew it was a dream. Apparently I was on a football field where a game was about to be played and televised, and this town was really angry at me for being there naked. So I said to them, "Oh don't worry about it, this is just a dream. You guys aren't even real." They got really angry at me for suggesting they were not real, but I told them "No, really, I have these kinds of dreams all the time, trust me." And after that dream, it was a really long time - like a couple of years - before I had another "naked" dream.
There was another dream during that time where I was on a spaceship, and aliens were shooting at us. We knew we were going to die, so when they were about to fire at us, I just closed my eyes and said, "Ok God, I guess I'll be seeing you soon". And I waited. Then I woke up.
The second death dream, I actually got through the death part. My love - I don't know who that was, I don't recognize him from real life - and I were going to be killed - martyred, I think. Anyway, I had to watch them kill him - they forced me - and then it was my turn. I shut my eyes and waited, and then I heard my love's voice behind me telling me it was ok, it was over. I opened my eyes, and it was like we were still standing in the same place, but on the "other side". I was dead, but I never felt it happen. It was so weird.
Anyway, I tried reading the trilogy again late last year/early this year in hopes of recapturing those dreams, but it didn't work this time. They were so cool, though. ;D

All of my dreams very vivid and I always remember them, even the ones I wish I didn't.They are always real to me.So much so that at first I have a hard time telling dreams from reality.I can touch,I can taste,I can read (I've been told that many people can't do that). All my dreams are in color. The weirdest thing to me is feeling. When someone touches me in my dreams,I'm so sensitive to it,it's almost like I have no skin.I have 3 dreams that stand out more than the rest due to being touched in these dreams. The first one is about my mother.I was 300% a mama's girl.We were extremely close and I held her hand when she passed away.I truly felt the gravity of loss that day.She came to me in this dream and was sitting at a table in bright room filled with a warm light. She smiled at me and motioned for me to sit down.I took a seat and we had a very long talk about so many things, the most sad was the fact that my brother Kim would be the next to pass away. After our talk she stood upkissed my forehead and pulled me into one of the best hugs I've evr had. That was the first time I ever woke from a dream in tears. The second involved my brother. He died almost 12 years after my mom and this dream was so strange because no words were spoken.I heard a knock at my door very early in the morning.I was curious as to who would be stupid enough to show up that early so I answered the door.I couldn't believe my eyes.Kim was standing there. In mind I'm thinking this can't be real, but I stand aside and let him in.I made him something to eat,let him take a bath and gave him clean clothes, and then I made a bed on thefloor for him so he could rest. Before laying down he gave me one of his hugs (I loved his hugs, they made you feel so loved),touched the top of my head like he used to when I was little and smiled at me.I fell asleep in the dream and when I woke in the dream,he was gone.I cried for 2 hours after that dream. The third dream is very intimate.I'm sitting in a semi lit room in a place I've never been before.A man enters the room.I can't really make out his facial features very well, but he's very tall with broad shoulders. He has kind of longish hair and it's dark. His eyes are the most brillant silver blue. They're so luminous against the darkness of the room. He's dressed in a shirt that has several buttons undone, not too many, but just enough for me to catch a slight glimpse of an unusual necklace and a pair of jeans that look well worn.He reaches down and helps me stand and I notice his hands as they encircle my wrists.I'm immediately drawn to them.Large and warm with long fingers that have a couple of rings on them. The rings feel cool against my skin.I can feel his warmth as he moves closer to me.I ask him who he is.I hear a slight laugh and feel his grin as he drags his lips up the side of my neck and takes my earlobe and nibbles on it.I feel his breath on my skin as he says "Your soulmate".At that moment he tilts my chin upwards and pulls me closer to him.My eyes drift closed.I can feel his bangs fall and brush the bridge of my nose.I can feel the press of warm somewhat soft lips press against mine as his thumb sweeps against my jawline. And then my alarm went off.I actually looked around the room to see if I was alone. That dream was unsettling to say the least.

After my dad died, I had a LOT of dreams about him coming back. It was so weird, too, because he died of Alzheimer's 3 1/2 years ago, and when he'd come back in the dream, he was fine. I remember that, within the dream, we would marvel at the fact that he was back and ok. He could communicate again and all (he hadn't been able to talk for the last year or two of his life). In one dream, I even said to him, "Do you realize how blessed you are to have come back? Most people don't get to come back from this disease." And he very much agreed. It was almost as if, in the dream, we understood that his death was something he had to go through, in order to be cleansed of the illness, but that such a thing didn't happen for everyone.

I love those dreams where you realize that the world around you is just a dream, and with just a little imagination you can make anything you want to happen, happen. Especially since most of my dreams are realistic: bright colors, distinct smells, textures, food flavors, stability enough to read books (but not write or type, for some reason.) Somehow, without having to imagine or plan it out beforehand, my mind will translate something less realistic from waking life, like a cartoon character or a video game pixie, into the dream of... what looks like a very, very good cosplayer who insists that he or she is the actual character. So, in my favorite dreams: - I've been given a tour of the ghost town theme park from Spirited Away by Haku himself. Or Haku mostly himself, he became Howl at every other step for some reason, I guess my brain filed them too close together.
- I've morphed myself into a far less bobbleheaded Beatrix (which may be a tiny shame as I am actually kind of proportioned like an FFIX character already in real life,) and rescued Princess Yukiko from the castle-library full of Doctor Who -verse's Vashta Nerada backed up by a toggle-prone battle party of Firefly, LoTR, Neverwhere and Harry Potter characters.
(...seriously, Brain O'Mine, your filing system... @_@)
- I fly like Peter Pan, only slower and less controlled. It's frustrating sometimes, when I know it's both just a dream and just my dream but I still get mauled by giant chickens or zombies or giant zombie mer-chickens because I'm just not fast enough. I oughta dream me up an airship.
Those The-One-The-Matrix-type dreams don't happen too often, though. Maybe twice a year, and the next time it comes I just plan to use it to practice some waking life skill like Tai Chi or the piano or something that I can't practice too often in waking life because I don't like my roommates watching/hearing me make awkward missteps. My other dreams are pretty, but usually just weird random stuff.
