I saw the "Met a Voice Actor?" thread and thought I'd start this one over here. The only famous people I can think of that I met are Alec and Stephen Baldwin. My father-in-law is Stephen's nutritionist and a good friend, so we had the chance 2 years ago to go up to his house on Thanksgiving. He seems pretty cool, but I think he must have ADD. The guy can't sit still for 5 minutes. I did get the chance to make a bunch of cookies for him and his family, which was cool. His wife and mother-in-law are such incredible sweethearts, too. As for meeting Alec, we got to go to Stephen's for his birthday last year, and Alec stopped by. It was so funny - when he came in, he actually shook hands with us and said "Hi, I'm Alec". Like we didn't know who he was. ;D But the poor guy looked so disheveled. If I didn't know better, I'd think he was shy, too. I did manage to get a picture of him cutting and serving Stephen's birthday cake, which was funny. I don't know that Christian musicians would've been considered "famous" exactly, but I met a lot back when I was a teenager. My mom won a radio contest once and we got to stay in a bed & breakfast with all the musicians headlining the music festival that weekend. That was pretty cool. And there were other music festivals I went to and met people at. I have one shirt that is covered with signatures from all different Christian bands... But that's about it. No other stories to tell that I can think of. ;D

I will hopefully be going to a meet and great type of thing next weekend where Peter Facinelli will be at. It's like ten minutes away from my dorm so I figured, what the heck! I don't have anything going on that day.
I'm tempted to drag my mom with me. I don't like going alone. It feels weird.
Other than this possible event, I've met my share of voice actors. But that's pretty much it. Being in the middle of no where doesn't help much.

I'm jealous of Peter Facinelli. he's very gorgeous and looks like he would be such a sweetie! <3
I'm actually friends with Salma Hayek. I got to spend time with her for about a week (we both were in the same place for a while), and she's a real sweet heart!
Though it's funny, I had to really think about this, because I don't consider Salma as a "famous actress" like everyone else does. It's funny when things happen like that - you get to know someone, and soon even everything they've done, becomes normal. And yet, I still think Hugh Jackman and all those amazing actors/actresses (like Salma) and far beyond anything. It's just, once you get to know them, they become normal people, like everyone else is I'm sure. =]

i've met a lot of famous people over the years, even back WAY before i got into the con thing. i think it's just part of what got me interested in doing this kind of work in the first place.
like Baka Neko said, after awhile - they become more and more like "normal people" and you don't even so much think about who they are anymore.
i think the first "famous person" i met was alan alda, when i was a kid. he was in town for a big rally, and i got to meet him. i had a huge crush on him from M*A*S*H.
one summer in NYC i got to meet kathy najimi, edward herman, paul rudd and the entire cast of "rent." oh, and most of the original blue man group. of those, i had the most contact with paul rudd. we stood around and talked after one of his shows for quite awhile, and really had a good time. the next day, i came to the theater after his afternoon matinée and brought him a rose. we had a picture taken together, and i mailed him a copy. i had it BAD for him for quite awhile after that, LOL! such a sweetie. i bet he'd remember me if we ran into one another again, though.
i've met bruce campbell, jason carter, and a ton of voice actors and musicians.
there are a strangely large number of famous people from the tiny oklahoma town where i grew up - like dwayne o'brien {from the band "little texas"} and zac maloy {from the band "the nixons," but now he writes music for people like daughtry and carrie underwood}. the woman who wrote "heartbreak hotel" for elvis is from my town, and was my friend's grandmother. her son, my friend's uncle, wrote "never been to spain" and "joy to the world" {jeremiah was a bullfrog}. he was also in the movie "gremlins." blake shelton is from my town. so is the pro football player jeremy shockey, who plays for the saints - he helped them win the superbowl last year. if anyone ever watched "twin peaks" - laura palmer was from my town.
it's weird how much has come out of here, for a town of 16k.
oh! does anyone watch "the amazing race?" i've had 1 set of friends on there, and then a set from my town {again with the town!!!}.

Ian Zeiring and Scott Wolf grew up in my hometown and graduated my high school, but I think that's all I know of...
My brother says some kid he went to school with is getting his own show on Comedy Central, but I don't remember his name.

I'm going to skip my list from the anime cons I've been to; there's way to many actors to list even if I really didn't get to meet any va's until last year's TnT.
Bands not from cons: Josey Scott (got a kiss on the cheek!) & Wayne Swinny of Saliva Jonathan Montoya, formerly of Saliva (met the rest of the bad as well, but they weren't nearly as nice). All-American Rejects the original lineup of P.O.D. 3 of the members of Flogging Molly 30 Seconds to Mars
Actors: Avery Brooks John DeLancie Cirroc Lofton, Garrett Wang (seriously, this guy misses seeing me when he's in town) Anthony Montgomery Phil Morris Adam Baldwin Eddie McClintock Michael Dorn Mark Sheppard Joel Gretsch Robert Leeshock Keith Hamilton Cobb (He hugged me without me asking) Lisa Howard
There are others, but they are mostly uneventful and/or kinda rude. I've also forgotten a few.

Joan DeLancie is a glorious bastard. He's kind of a jerk but is a really nice guy at the same time.
