Today marks the beginning of NaNoWriMo! www.nanowrimo.org/I am going to participate! Are you? Meh... I don't like NaNoWriMo because I don't think it's possible to write a full-length novel in only one month without it being poor quality. It's just not possible, and taking more time, like a few months, makes more sense to me. Revising like hell is HELL, so I try to avoid that by taking more time to write. Plus, I just can't even physically keep up with that pace. Just my opinion.... But, I don't mean to put a downer on you, AVY!! I'm happy you're doing it because you probably CAN, whereas I just don't have the energy to finish writing my novel in so short a time. If you need a BETA, please consider me, okay! Maybe you can be mine, too, later, when I have a draft finished of mine... Much later on, that is... ;D Sorry, I'm not in the best mood because my mom is being a bitch to me today................Ugh.................*facepalm*

I'm not officially participating, because pre-writing is against the rules. I'm just using it to get some momentum on this monster-fanfic that I can't get past the second chapter of despite knowing everything that's supposed to happen.
I just can't get it to the next plot point, because I keep backspacing, wondering if a sentence could be put better, or what's the characters' motivations, or if the prose lays the gloom on too thick, if keeping it short-and-subtle is boring compared to detailing pages of action that only conveys as much important information as a single scene of the former-- for almost all my free time the last three years.
No more. Come crap or quality, I shall make it to the final sentence this month! ;D

Sorry, I'm not in the best mood because my mom is being a bitch to me today................Ugh.................*facepalm* OOF! Sorry to hear that Kyashi!! >< That sucks. I think I'll participate because it will give me a good slingshot into that story I've been meaning to write. You know the one I'm talking about, Kyashi! I would be honoured if you wanted to give it a read later on!! Apparently the 30 days is for writing ONRY and then revisions and editing and such is done in December. It will be hard to just write - not editing at the same time will suck - but I'll do my best. Yeah, even though I've had this story in my head for a LONG time, that's the only place where it's started. Soooo we'll see how easily it comes. GL with your writing, tynged!!! I know I'll be struggling with similar things.

Yes, good luck with it, Avy! You, too, tynged, if you are actually doing it. I'll help you whenever you're ready for proofreading, Avy. And, yes, I do know which story you're talking about...*index finger to nose*

Completely unedited, I am writing without editing at the same time... (!) It's harder than it sounds... I've resisted the temptation pretty well, and I find it quite liberating to just write without worry about having to go back and over each bit as I do it. I can do that later.... and I'll have help! <3 Kyashi! <3
Anyway, here's a sneak (unedited) peek! XD

His hands came to rest on her hips, edging her closer towards him as he pressed his ear to her chest. Slipping her hands into his hair, thick dark waves spilled out between her fingers as she held him against her.
The cat would be out of the bag now. With the side of his head pressed against her sternum she knew he could hear the hectic pitter patter beneath it.
They stayed like that for what seemed like forever before he pulled away from her slightly, looking up into her face. She couldn't help but return his gaze; paralyzed by it as time stopped.
There wasn't any searching between them, any silent questions, or any necessary hesitation; and all she could feel was the ever present erratic drum in her ear and the way his familiar heavy hands felt on her.
All she could think was how much she had wanted this last night when he showed up unannounced in her doorway and how she could think about precious little else since.
Ghosting his knuckles along her jaw to almost hover over her cheek, he unfolded his hand to cup it. Incredibly, and in spite of the pep talk she had given herself about how she shouldn't be doing exactly what she was doing now, her head gave into the gravity of his tender invitation.
As their lips touched in a gentle kiss, his hands slipped around her waist, prompting her to take the final step into him, her knees meeting the padded edge of the chair; their bodies lining up, but still a breath away.

Yes, excerpt! I have just over 8600 words atm. It is going well, akshully. *knocks on wood* I'm mostly writing a skeleton atm just to get it all out there, then I'll flesh it out later. I've gotta make sure I pace myself though! I wanna make sure I can get it all done within the time limit. I don't think that the 50,000 will be a problem... but I'd like to get it read-able in that time frame as well.

Here's a test any writer can take to help you understand and analyze your fictional characters a whole lot better! Thought, avy would be interested in this, seeing as how she's doing NaNoWriMo right now: www.mediabistro.com/galleycat/test-your-characters-nanowrimo-tip-17_b17083This blog gives a link to the website where you can take the questionnaire. I've learned SO much more about one of my important characters, already! It's super accurate, too...!
