We need a thread on the Trinity Blood novels, yo! Do any of you guys read them? They are SO amazing, and you really get the true picture of what all the characters are really like, and how the story was always meant to be told. And, seriously, there are A LOT of differences between them and the anime (and the manga, which I find fail). If you guys don't currently read them, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO!! TokyoPOP publishes them, and they are not going to publish the entire set of 12 books because of lack of interest. So, we will never be able to know how the story really goes if people never buy them... (This makes Kyashi sad... )

I LOVE the novels. And they aren't doing all 12? How dare they.
I haven't read the manga. I just haven't had interest or time. The anime and novels are more than enough for me.
The novels can be read so many times, and new things pop up each time. I've read the ones I have (I really need to catch up on them too...I'm missing too many) so many times. I just can't get enough.

The novels just RULE!!? Don't you love the characters so much more from them, than in the anime? Abel is pretty much the same, but he does more, and more is described in detail, so you can't help but heart him so much more. (Abel, marry me, please!!) Tres is such a close-second favorite character from the books, that I wonder I like him more than Abel. He's in the novels a lot more than in the anime. I love how he always shows up whenever Abel is getting himself into trouble and rescues him, but then threatens to shoot him for not perfectly obeying Caterina's orders to the letter! LOL-Tres. Everything he says is pure unintentional-comedy... I'm pretty upset with TP for not wanting to finish publishing all the novels, but poor sales is poor sales, ya know? People gotta get more interested in them, and they will deliver. BTW, has Troy ever mentioned anything about reading the novels himself? I've always wondered if he was familiar with them, or not...

True. You can't exactly fight poor sales. Which makes me a bit sad now.
But I love the characters so much more in the novels. Tres is my favorite but Abel comes in a close second. The novels are lucky enough where they can go into much more detail and be more descriptive in situations and in characters. Which is why I love them so much.
You can almost get in their mind more in the novels, whereas in the manga or anime, you really don't get that feeling. You see what they are doing but not always read what they are feeling and other things that are hard to get across in the other two forms of TB.
I haven't heard if Troy has read them or not. But I haven't exactly been searching for it either...

Totally cool... ;D I love how you get from the novels exactly how Abel and Esther's relationship is supposed to be. The anime just jacks it all up! Abel is very obviously in love with her, and Esther finds him mostly bothersome until his candid confession in the 2nd volume of ROTM. Then, she's scared of him, then sucks it up, and decides to have more respect for him. The scene when she first sees him in his 80% Crusnik form is WAY different in the novel from the anime. It's so much better, too! I don't even remember him screaming at all. She was just so scared of him, she fainted, and he just picked her up in his arms. It was so sweet, made me cry... Then when she saves his life at the end of that volume, she puts her hand on his talons, like she fully accepts him as a monster-person. His eyes say it all in the illustration. YAHH! I cried yet again...

It keeps this human aspect in it that just tugs at your heart and you can almost feel the raw emotions from the novel.

It keeps this human aspect in it that just tugs at your heart and you can almost feel the raw emotions from the novel. I love the scene where he's confessing to her while he thinks she's asleep. THAT is when Abel is the REAL Abel -- the first time you get a glimpse of him just being who he really is throughout the entire series! He tells her that he only acts like a bumbling idiot because he feels he needs to overcompensate for being such a scary monster. Then, he tells her he's not sure he'll ever see her again, and that he really came to cherish her as a friend. I love how hearing this got Esther to get-it-together. She decided from that point on that she wasn't going to be afraid of him anymore, even though her fear was brief. He wasn't really a monster because he had human emotions. And, he cared about her like any man would, so she sucked-it-up! She needed to hear all of that, and Abel would never have had the courage to tell her all of this to her face. When she comes to his rescue after he gives up and is about the let the auto-jaegers chop him up, she's screaming at him for why he's being lazy and not doing anything, lol! He was totally shocked to see her there. Sucha great scene. His attitude changes completely because he was depressed over her being afraid of him. That's why he makes that face in the illustration, like he's so happy, he wants to cry, but is trying not to...

I've watched the anime several times over and I was disappointed on how it ended.I've only read 7 volumes of the manga because it's hard to find it where I live.I have been trying for 2 years to find the novels and now I find out that they aren't even going to publish them all?God,it sucks being so far behind. But if anyone could tell me where I might find the novels they did publish,I would be forever grateful.

Oh, I think I answered your question over on Troy's Facebook! I hope my reply shows up over there... And, I think TokyoPop IS going to publish all the books, after all. They're even planning another one for November.

Love the books, they are definitely a good read. Leon killed his wife?!? What book did that happen in? If I read it, I don't even remember that. Anyway, are you like everyone else, and just reading the English publications? I thought I'd ask, since some people are literate in Japanese, and I just never know who is and who isn't.

Yeah, Leon killed his wife and 30 members of the clergy which is what got him put on death row before Caterina saved his happy hide and put him on the AX.....his prison is the Vatican's orphanage and for each mission he does with the AX, it knocks 20 years off his sentence of 1,000 years......
I am reading them in English...... lol, i know about enough Japanese to train my dogs and ask where the bathroom is......

I have one book left to get all caught up with the ones in English, and I bet I'll be reading about this in there. 1,000 years... Like, he'd live that long! And, about you knowing Japanese, I was just checking. Since I was so close to getting caught up with the English versions, I thought perhaps you had read the unpublished ones already, which would mean you would have to know Japanese. That's my weird thinking/reasoning... I hope to pick up where ToykoPop leaves off with these books, since they look like they're dropping this series. When I know some more Japanese, I'm going to buy the raw books and translate, 'cause it's wrong to lead a horse to water, and then dump him half way! I'm grateful they've gone as far as they have, but seriously, make the commitment to stick it out to the end, for cryin' out loud! There are some people who love these books and have no choice but to let them go because the publisher drops the series. *very annoyed*
