@ally: How old is that video of Troy singing with Tripp Fontaine? He seriously looks so different, I barely recognized him!! What a trip... looking again, i think it's curtain club, not clearview {but not a big difference!} i'd say it was probably from 2000-2001. so yeah, it's been awhile! i'll ask troy and brandon and see if they remember fo' sho'. That's funny 'cause that's what I was thinking... Wait...! Have you known Troy for THAT many years, Ally?!!

have you guys seen the tripp fontaine promo? it's got interview stuff with all the guys, troy is pretty prominent in it {go figure...}
and - troy and i haven't been friends that long, we became friends in the last couple of years - but we both lived/worked in the same parts of dallas back in 2000-2003. we even worked at a couple of the same places, and lived a few blocks apart, but didn't really know one another {isn't that funny!}. we know a LOT of the same people, and i know i saw TF play at least a few times.
a few random weird tripp fontaine facts: they used to open for my friend zac's band, the zac maloy band. i'm sure i saw them open for him at least once, maybe twice.
also, there was this funny little local band that used to open for tripp, when they were on their upswing, just after the record came out and they were getting radio play. they really liked this band, and had a lot of fun with them - but tripp was the headliner, the other band was just the opening act that nobody had ever heard of. that band had a funny name, "bowling for soup."
heh, it's funny how things turn, isn't it?

I treasure these random weird facts that only you can provide, Ally I'm a little puzzled by this comment there, though Would you happen to know what that's on about?

Bowling for Soup? Wow, that is really interesting. How ironical can life be...? (rhetorical question...

I'm a little puzzled by this comment there, though Would you happen to know what that's on about? basically, it boils down to: the band was on the verge of great success, but faltered. they broke up rather than breaking out, in short. they're all still really good friends, they just all kind of went off in different directions for awhile. troy and brandon were in several bands together over the years. tripp had the most promise, the record, even a movie soundtrack - then ... yeah, not a household name now.

Oh, that's good! Er, I mean it's a shame, because I can hear they had that spark-- clever lyrics, cool riffs, and all. But at least it wasn't some stupid marketing contract kerfuffle, or any bad blood that would make a fanpage update like "Would you pass on to Joey McClellan that I thought his solo in She Grooves Me was wicked sexy??" really awkward. Okay, maybe that'd still be awkward. But. You know.

Yeah, it's fun to see Troy from a totally different perspective. His background seems to have been completely different from where he is now, career-wise. Funny how things work out in life. Never know where you're gonna end up...

That literally blows my mind. I love Bowling for Soup - almost as much as I love Tripp Fontaine. (=P) and I am slightly bummed that Tripp Fontaine didn't end up working everything out. I love the music (I've seen that promo a lot, that's what got me into the music...) and I love the lyrics. hehe.
But when you think about the big picture, Troy has an awesome singing voice, but an amazing voice in general, and I think if the band had gone somewhere, we wouldn't have gotten to see him as he is today.
Abel Nightroad. Akatsuki Kain. Snow Villiers. Schneizel El Britannia. Excalibur...
Just as a few people that we have learned to love and adore, because of Troy himself and his ability to bring anything to life how we all love it. (obviously, because otherwise, this fan club wouldn't be here... lol)
So in a sense, despite my big love for Tripp Fontaine, I'm glad it didn't work out...
because not only have I gotten to meet him, but I could again, and his fame is growing everyday and I'm so glad that I get to be apart of the "original" fan club. :3
((Sorry, I'm really in a emotionally passionate mood... and a writing mood, so I can keep going for years on how much Troy means to me and his roles inspire me, and etc....... shuttingupnow.))

Here's the Bleach DVD interview I was talking about, that I uploaded to Youtube. Troy is kind of spread out throughout the video, amongst some other great voice-over actors. Be sure to check out the unexpected chest hair...
