My "yay" is just that I sold 7 copies of my comic at NYAF. Last year it was only 2, so this is awesome for me.
Yay!

Accidentally? ;D Please, do share! The entire comic is also posted online in several places - on my DeviantART, on Smackjeeves, and on ChristianManga.com, because I've continued into Chapter 2 online. That, of course, is not in print because it's not finished yet. Most of the info for it is in my signature. Ah, I dream of one day going to a con where a Christian comic would be more well-accepted. But to do that, I'll have to go like 1000 miles from here...

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Finally done this Gir costume for a friend's little sister back home. Gir is from Invader Zim - just in case anyone doesn't know. She asked me to make it just before AC, and I just now got it done. I've just been taking my time. :3 The second pic's colour is way better and more of a proper representative of what it actually looks like. I didn't have a model...... so I hope it fits her. XD

Yay! I know more Japanese than I thought I did!!! Yay!!!!
OMG, studying it for the past 6 months has really worked. I didn't realize how much better I am at translating what I read in Japanese (emphasis on READING) until I decided to try a translation of a tweet by my favorite mangaka, Kubo-sensei (Bleach). A girl in a Bleach forum I hang out in wanted to know what it said, and I got the translation much, much quicker than I expected.
Wow, I'm amazed. I was totally thinking about quitting because I thought I really wasn't making much progress, and I'm forgetting stuff like crazy. But, I think I'll stick with it for a while longer, after all. I love translating manga, so I want to get good at it... ;D

Congrats Kyashi!! ;D I hope someday I can read it that well, too. I mean, I can probably read more than I think, too, but certainly not enough to do that kind of translating. Very cool!

Thanks, you guys! It's not an easy language, actually. You have to learn an entirely different alphabet for which you have no idea how to pronounce the symbols, until you learn them, that is. I still haven't learned how to pronounce all the Katakana just yet, but I'm getting there. And, then there's the Kanji.... (that's actually not so hard for me.) But, I have been taking lessons for a while now and it's nice to know they've been paying off.... やった!!すごい! < See, there's a bit right there...

Aha! That I could read! ;D But how in the world did you get the characters to type out? That's what I haven't figured out how to do...
